Wogbɛ Jɛkɛ: The Birth of A Nation

On the 4th and 5th of July, the National Theatre will burst with  great energy, excitement and colour as the 150 member cast and crew of the Key Soap sponsored #HeritageTheatreSeries hit the stage for their first production, Wogbɛ Jɛkɛ: The Birth of A Nation



This is a  two hour theatrical spectacle of music, dance and drama that reenacts the history of Ghana from ancient times to 1957; featuring the conquest of Ndewura Jakpa, the treachery of Agokoli, the pride of Yaa Asantewaa, the dreams of Nkrumah and many more.

Directed by BBC award winning playwright, Anima Misa Amoah, of Adams Apples fame; choreographed by international dance acts, Sena Atsuga and Baffour Awuah of  Choreomundus International, Norway; supported by a technical team of professionals from the School of Performing Arts, Legon; featuring a breathtaking performance from the sensational Noella Wiyaala;   written and produced by one of Ghana’s outstanding young poets, Chief Moomen; this will simply and truly be an awesome experience.
